200% vs. 250% vs. 300% Density Wigs — Which Is Right for You?

200% vs. 250% vs. 300% Density Wigs — Which Is Right for You?

Density is one of the most important — and most misunderstood — specs when buying a wig. At Wigs By Biological, all of our HD Lace Front Wigs are available in 200%, 250%, and 300% density. Here's what that actually means.

What Is Wig Density?

Density refers to how much hair is sewn into the wig cap relative to a natural head of hair (which is considered 100%). Higher density = more hair = more volume and fullness.

200% Density

This is our most popular density — and for good reason. At 200%, the wig looks naturally full without being overwhelming. It's:

  • Lightweight and comfortable for all-day wear
  • Ideal for straight and wavy styles (Body Wave, Bone Straight, Water Wave)
  • The best starting point for first-time wig wearers
  • Still dramatically fuller than a natural head of hair

250% Density

A step up in volume — 250% gives you noticeable fullness that photographs beautifully and holds styles longer. It's the sweet spot for:

  • Curly textures (Bouncy Curl, Kinky Curl, Deep Wave)
  • Content creators and stylists who want camera-ready volume
  • Anyone who wants more drama without going full glam

300% Density

This is maximum volume — the kind of wig that commands a room. At 300%, you get:

  • Incredibly thick, lush hair from root to tip
  • Ideal for Burmese Curl, Jerry Curl, and statement straight styles
  • The go-to choice for special events, photoshoots, and editorial looks
