Single Drawn vs. Super Double Drawn Wigs — What's the Difference & Which Should You Buy?

Single Drawn vs. Super Double Drawn Wigs — What's the Difference & Which Should You Buy?

One of the most common questions we get at Wigs By Biological is: "What's the difference between Single Drawn and Super Double Drawn?" It's a great question — and the answer directly affects how your wig looks, feels, and performs.

Single Drawn Wigs

Single Drawn (SD) wigs are made from hair bundles where strands vary in length naturally — just like real hair. The result is a natural, tapered look with slightly less density at the ends. These wigs are:

  • More affordable
  • Ideal for everyday wear
  • Available in longer lengths (16"–32")
  • Great for styles like Body Wave, Bone Straight, Deep Wave, Bouncy Curl, Kinky Curl, and Burmese Curl

Our Single Drawn HD Lace Front Wig collection is Grade 12A and available in 200%, 250%, and 300% density — so even at the entry level, you're getting a premium product.

Super Double Drawn (SDD) Wigs

Super Double Drawn wigs are hand-sorted so that every strand is the same length from root to tip. The result is maximum fullness, thickness, and a dramatically voluminous look — even at shorter lengths.

SDD is the choice for:

  • Maximum density and fullness
  • Shorter styles like bobs (8"–16")
  • Statement looks — Ombré, Piano, Blonde
  • Clients who want that "just-installed" look every day

Our SDD line includes the SDD Black Bob, SDD Piano Bone Straight, SDD Blonde Body Wave, SDD Ombré Body Wave, and SDD Bouncy Curl.
